APPLICATION ENCLOSURES

 
 
 
 

Applications for registration as a physiotherapist in Denmark are evaluated on an individual basis and may be submitted in English or Danish. The application must be submitted in the form of certified copies or original documents:

  • Diploma in original language, as well as a translation into Danish or English.
  • A certificate from the authorities confirming that the applicant has the right to practise as a physiotherapist in his/her country.
  • A certificate from the authorities confirming that the applicant is currently in good standing as a physiotherpiast in his/her country.
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Documentation of applicant's name, date of birth and nationality(e.g. copies of relevant pages from passport).
  • Applications from other countries than EU and EØS member states:
    From the education institution details regarding the education program: admission requirements, date of entry into the program, date of graduation and normal duration of the program. Regarding theoretical education (subjects and number of hours in each subject). Regarding clinical education (kind of wards/institutions) where the experience has taken place and duration of each clinical unit).

Further information/documentation regarding work experience as a physiotherapist and further education (incl. Details), may be useful and taken into consideration when assessing the applicant's qualifications.

The documents above mentioned shall be originals or certified copies. It means that the copies must be certified to be true copies by a Danish embassy/ consulate, or by a Notary Public in the applicant's home country, or by the embassy/consulate of the country where the degree was obtained, or by a Notary Public in Denmark.

LANGUAGE

Knowledge in the Danish language must be achieved by citizens from coutnries outside the European Union and the EØS. For citizens inside the EU and EØS the language knowledge is up to the employer to decide.

The Board recognises physiotherapists physiotherapists educated in other EU-Member states after individual assesment. Aptitude tests and adaptation periods will be applied individually if there is a significant difference in the physiotherapy education of the applicant and the Danish education requirements. A limited licence to practise can be issued to an applicant who elects to undergo an adaptation period. This may be arranged at the place of provisional employment. A full licence to practise in Denmark will only be granted if the adaptation period has been fulfilled and assessed to be satisfactory.
